With Higher Learning...Hire Aspirations as our overarching theme, we are excited to put together a conference that inspires, informs, connects, celebrates and ultimately enables us to reach new heights.  In two and a half days of conference programming, you can look forward to informative keynote speakers, enlightening plenary sessions, engaged discussion, and lots of fun! We welcome proposals for presentations, panel discussions, and workshops from co-op practitioners, students, employers, and researchers.

From student success to employer engagement to research and trends, we have 35+ presentations, workshops, and panel sessions to inspire and inform your work. 


Location
We will be hosting the sessions, keynotes, breakfasts and lunches at the Whistler Conference Centre

Opening Keynote: Beth Page - "Daring to Dream Big"
Closing Keynote:   Dr. Norman Amundson - "Metaphor Making: Your Career, Your Life, Your Way"

Conference Themes

__Based on feedback from previous conferences, we have a full conference planned along the following themes:
  • Sustainability – e.g. the green economy and co-operative education; changing and growing our programs in an ever-changing world; taking care of ourselves as professionals
  • Engaging our stakeholders – e.g. employer and student expectations; understanding the millennial generation and working with different generations; how employers can maximize co-operative education within their business and/or human resources strategies; working with diverse communities; situating co-operative education within institutional priorities and strategies
  • Teaching and Learning – e.g. instructional skills; reflective learning; effective teaching aids; learning styles
  • Technology – e.g. effects and uses in communications, marketing, learning and teaching, client relations management, trends
